How much is my 2001 VW TDI Golf worth?

Bought in Canada (Ontario) original owner

5 speed manual

AC (blows cold)

Class I trailer hitch

Thule ski rack

6 disk CD player

new battery

new windshield

360,000 km

winter tires on separate rims

alloy rims

Any ideas? Thanks!|||Depends on the maintenance history. I've got an '01 Golf TDI with 162,000 miles on it (260kish kms) and I feel I'd be pretty lucky to get $6,000 out of it. If your timing belt has been done recently and all of the other maintenance is pretty up to date, I'd guess around $5,000. Wait until fuel prices rise a little more and the value of your car will continue to rise. I'm talking USD here, Canadian prices are pretty similar as far as I know.|||It is worth what you can get for it. So check the newspapers around your area and see what private sales are asking. Car lot prices are inflated and most times they are expecting a "trade in vehicle" so they automatically cover the loss there. It also depends on your town and whether there are a lot of people in search of good older TDI's. Go out and see some of the private sales(to see what they are asking for the quality of vehicle they are selling) So yeah, you have to go like you are in the market to buy the car. Draw your conclusions from that.

Me, I am not looking for that type of vehicle.....so it has a value of zero.|||ever try kelly blue book? www.kbb.com real simple

Does anyone out there understand and translate latin?

i have three written passages that i need translating.

i've been trying for months with no success, so can anyone out there help me,

the 1st is:- tempus edax rerum

the 2nd is:- si quid habet mammas vel rotas, res habebis dificiles aliquando

the 3rd is:- venient annis saecula seris quibus oceanus vincula rerum laxet, et ingens pateat tellus. tethysque novos detegat orbes, nec sil terris ultima thule.

What are aluminium drop outs?

I just got a Thule Bike Rack and the User Guide reads: "Do not install bicycles equipped with front forks made from carbon fiber". I emailed the Thule Company and they said that my bike should have aluminium drop outs. Well here is the deal... I have not purchased the bike yet. I'm still looking for the one I want, but I'm sure it will be equipped with front forks made from carbon fiber.

So what are aluminium drop outs?|||the things at the end of the fork, that the wheel actually goes into

these should be metal, not carbon fiber

which i think is usually the case with carbon forks anyway

the ends are usually metal, bonded to the carbon

Rear-high mounted cycle carriers, has anyone got any helpfull advise?

I am looking to get a rear high mounted cycle carrier for my Skoda estate car. I have seen 2 that interest. The argos has a Mont Blanc universal carrier at 拢49, or Thule have one for 拢109. I would like to know if anyone knows about these or any other carriers and can you open your boot with either of these on. The Thule looks like it will enable me to open the boot, but am not sure.

Any advise will be well apreciated :)|||We have a Skoda estate and cycle carrier from Halfords. It is supposed to hold 3 bikes but feels dead dodgy with more than 2 on there. My golden rule - developed from years of experience is that if it is from Argos then it will be cut price Cr**p, that won't last. The best carriers I've seen are the ones that attach to the towing bracket. I wish we had gone for one of these even if they are a bit more expensive. To answer your question I would go for the Thule. I don't think it will allow you to open the boot with bikes attached, but as the other respondent mentioned you could give them a call before buying it.|||See whether the straps that go into the rear door have "dumbell" plastic shapes for the strap end, or whther they have some "hook" shapes.

Dumbell shapes are only trapped in the closed door, and will fall out if the door is opened.

You want the type that hook on the door, not the type that get trapped in the closed door.

Also when you're fitting the carrier, don't have the bottom bar resting on the bumper, ensure it is higher up, so that this does not prevent the door opening.

To be double sure, you can telephone each store's helpline.|||I bought one in France it hooks over top bottom and sides similiar , they are not the best fitting inthe world and need to be checked and double checked , and checked on the road . Great for motorway driving then remove the bikes at your destination . Would not recommend opening the boot but it is possible if necessary but loaded with the bike it needs care as if allowed to bang closed could smash the rear windscreen , it has never happened to me but it is a fear. Having said that I have used mine carefully for eight years with no problems . Look at tow bar mounted ones .

Anybody know if a 2001 OEM roof rack will fit other year/models?

I have a roof rack that came off of a 2001 Audi A6. It is a Thule Original Equipment rack, so Thule provided no help at all. See, most of them are not from the US with one minor exception.

How do I mount my bike on roof rack.?

I have a Specialized Enduro. The front does not seem to have a quick release, but the back does. The roof rack requires you to take off the front wheel. I have tried taking off the rear wheel and it wont fit. How else would I do this? Would I have to buy a big mouth Thule rack so the whole bike just fits on top?|||yea the big mouth would work but that will cost you right? is there nuts holding on the tire? you may have to take along a wrench to take the wheel off then put it back on when you get to yourdestination. that is wierd that there is not a quick release tho. good luck

How much MPG can I expect to lose carrying a roof cargo carrier (Thule, X-Cargo, etc.)?

I'm going to be buying a roof cargo carrier for my Chevy HHR. I currently get between 29 mph and 32 mpg on the highway, depending entirely how fast I go.

I'm going to be travelling soon, and for the extra cargo carrying capacity I'm going to get a roof-top cargo carrier, like this one (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605鈥?/a> and I'm curious to know if anyone out there has one, and how much of a hit you take on your MPG?

Assuming my normal MPG is 30 mpg, what do you think my MPG will be with a cargo carrier on the roof rack?|||There is no way to be exact, it depends on how fast you drive, how you handle your starts (jack rabbit starts, etc.) do you have cruise control (this helps MPG if used), is your car carrier areo dynamic, etc. Just to take a guess, if you are getting 30 MPG without the car carrier, with the car carrier and an extra 100 lbs, I would estimate your mileage to be around 26 MPG.

melscybergarage.net

melscybergarag@gmail.com |||Consumer Reports %26amp; Edmunds tested a Thule roof box and roof basket. Both tests determined the loss depends on speed and car. The MPG hit was 17% to a whopping 25%. does anyone have any preference of thule or yakima?|||I use a Yakima Rack, but I understand Thule makes really nice racks, as well.

I suggest you go to the Yakima and/or Thule sites and do a bit of reading. Both have nice explanations of what you'll need. In any case, with a Yak Rack, you'll need the following:

1. Towers - What you refer to as feet, Yak calls "Towers." For a Honda, you'll use Q Towers. These come in two parts: a generic piece that affixes to the crossbars, and a "clip" that is specific to your Honda Civic.

2. Crossbars

3. Mounts for your bicycle. Yak and Thule makes a wide variety of mounts to fit nearly all bikes and budgets. The good news is they are pretty much compatible with other rack systems.

Thule works about the same way.

Here are some links:

http://www.yakima.com/RackBasics.aspx

http://www.thuleracks.com/default2.asp

If you go through the configurator on each company's web site, they'll give you a complete list of parts you'll need. You can print the list and take it to a dealer and get your system. Or start looking on Craigslist to buy a used system (at a significant discount.) If you buy a used system, you should probably plan on getting the "clips" specific to your car from a local dealer. Clips are about the least expensive part of the system.

Hope this helps.|||Thats all I needed to put a rack on my jeep. Ask a sales person check in there book. I kind of like the flat bars thule has over the round bars yakima has. A little easier to tie things to. 2x4, ply wood, canoes whatever. Ask around if you have a freind that already has one. Its nice to get the same so you can swap accessories around.

Can a Thule 910 Passage 2 trunk mount bike rack fit on a Honda Fit 2008 Sport model with a spoiler? Pics?

I am looking to put a rack on my Honda Fit Sport 2008, but the roof rack is expensive/cumbersome and the hitch seems like it will get in the way of the hatch, as well as be more cumbersome and involve more installation. I am wondering what trunk and hatch mount racks work with the Fit, especially considering there is a spoiler there that might not like the pressure of the straps on it. Any help and pics to show a good trunk mount install would be helpful. I came across some a few days ago that had some foam on the spoiler to protect it from wear due to the straps. Thank you for any help!!|||Visit their website and punch in your vehicle to their fit guide. If your car/trim isn't listed, call them up or email them. If they don't have info on your vehicle yet, then the best thing is to visit a shop that carries the rack you want and test it for fit. Definitely have to be careful with the straps so that you don't rub off paint or crack the spoiler....been there done that! I wouldn't use foam for protection, personally. I've seen different types of foam still cause abrasions on both bike and canoe mounts. Plus, the rack that I saw with foam block protectors wasn't exactly stiff-and-firm with the mountain bike that was on it, so on bumps it swayed a bit more than I'd want mine to. :o)|||I have two cars with spoilers on the and the only thing that I found to work was a Saris Bones. It's a nice rack and has a lifetime warranty.

Can I buy a cheap roof rack for my 1997 2 door Honda Civic HX?

Thule recommends a 400xt Aero Foot, LB 50 load bars, 259 fit kit and a short roof adapter but I only want a basic crossbar rack that will hold my surfboard securely at high speeds. Do I really need the adapter if I'm not carryign a lot of weight? Will any of the cheap racks (around $50) work on a 2 door car?|||Come on. Honda's have such thin metal on the roof It will cave in the minute you put something on it,|||Sure, there are plenty of those around. There are many offered that usually have rubber feet on the bottoms and straps with metal clamps that you can tighten. I have even used these for luggage. The price varies at each outlet. Certainly the prices a Thule, Yakima and Sportrack can run higher than what you want to spend. I have put links to them and a discount online site too. Personally, I have used a good triple folded GI blanket placed on the roof, then placed my boards face down with nose to the front on top with straps fed through the windows completely around the roof. These were strapped around the boards through the front side windows with another through the back windows. Of course the car I used didn't have a door window frame allowing me to not only get in and out of the car, but roll up the windows too that would keep the rain out up to the rubber gasket. Wish you well, catch a wave for me~~!

I'm doing a report on Hitler and the occult, can anyone help me?

I've looked on line, but all I can find are that he was in the Thule and Vril society. I need real information on things he did in the area of the occult. Ouija boards, dark rituals, stuff like that. Can anyone give me some examples or links?|||That's called cheating, idiot. Do your own homework.|||I think you're confusing Ouija boards with nazi paganism.

"The Nazis defended paganism, both during the early stages, and also when they came to power in 1933. They tore German society away from Christianity, and tried to turn it to pagan beliefs.

A short while after Hitler came to power, Christian holidays and festivals were replaced by pagan ones. 'Mother Earth' or 'Father Sky' were called on at wedding ceremonies. In 1935, Christian prayers in schools were stopped, and then all lessons concerning Christianity were banned.

Schoolchildren were taught the so-called 'Glorious pre-Christian German history,' and various rites and ceremonies, legacies of pagan culture, were held all over Germany. All Nazi meetings were in the form of traditional pagan ceremonies. There was almost no difference between Nazi rallies, held under the shadow of flaming torches, where slogans full of hate and violence were shouted and Wagner's pagan music played, and the perverted ceremonies carried out thousands of years ago at pagan temples and altars.

The Nazis also used the arts to re-awaken paganism. Ancient Greek concepts and symbols began to predominate under Nazi rule, and many statues similar to Greek statues were made, showing strong men and women of the Aryan race. Hitler dreamed that a 'superior race' would be formed by the use of eugenics, and establish a cruel and oppressive 'world kingdom' based on the Spartan model. The expression 'The Third Reich' is a statement of this dream. And as a result of this dream, 55 million people lost their lives in the Second World War, the bloodiest conflict that had ever been seen."|||There was a program on The Third Reigh: the rise and fall, presented by the history channel. I rgeatly recommend watching this, you need to know history, so it does not repeat itself. Try Hulu. It gave such examples as the hitler youth being sent of on camps. Many teenage girls came back pregnant with a "perfect arian child" and one young boy went to the extreme as to try and kill his mother because she had chores for him. His answer was he listened to the fuhrer first, his family second. Also, hitler gave out free radios but you were only allowed to his channel. URL at bottom. Yakima or thule?

im looking for a roof rack for my bike to put on my 96 civic. which brand do you think is better? i will be buying used off ebay

how would i mount it to my car? i have a 2dr and i dont see how it will attach|||Both are good quality. The Thule is stronger because of the heavier crossbars but the round bars on the Yakima will have less drag and won't cut unto your fuel economy as much. If all you are carrying is bikes the strength isn't an issue. I prefer the Yakima because it is american made. With either one you might have to buy a vehicle specific mounting kit.|||These are both great rack systems with lots of accessories. I am sure you'll be delighted with either.

Both Yak and Thule have fitting guides on their websites. Go through their configurators and they'll give you a list of parts you need.

In general, both rack systems have the following components:

1. Towers - These are the upright pieces.

2. Clips for your car - The towers sit on these feet that are made just for your model of car. They are pretty inexpensive, so you can buy the rest off ebay or craigslist and go pick up a new clips at REI or your local retailer.

3. Crossbars

4. Bike mounts

For some two door cars, there may also be a stretch kit or extender. The configurator will tell you if it is necessary.

You may also need and want a fairing to reduce wind noise and wind resistance.

Hope this helps.|||I have only had Yakimas but I think both are high quality.

I do have a civic coupe (with a yakima rack). You can order the rack off of ebay and order the specialized Q-Clips from the web. The rack itself will have more or a slope (instead of being mostly horizontal) because coupes cause the Q towers to be closer together. I only run bike racks but if I remember correctly if you want all of the options you will need an extention kit.

The Q towers will attach on the top of the door frame at the front of the door (an inch or two behind the windshield) and the back of the door (almost near the top corner).

I would look on yakima.com to check the options you have for your coupe.

Good luck!

Does anyone know what aftermarket crossrails will fit on a 2011 Pathfinder?

I've been looking at Thule, Yakima and Malone. Seem to be reading that the Pathfinder makes it very hard for aftermnart crossrails to fit...?|||Here is what I know both cross bows are different with foward arrows on the left side. And if accidentally interchanged wind turbulence is really bad. So anything placed up into the air flow over the top of the pathfinder will really slow down the truck and ruin already marginal gas mileage. Is there any difference between various roof rack brands: Yakima, Thule?

I'm looking to buy a roof rack system for my 2007 Audi S4 sedan.

QUESTION 1:

Is there a difference between the Thule system and the Yakima systems?

I want to use it to carry the following things (in order of importance %26amp; frequency of use)

1) One tandem bike (MAY NOT HAVE QUICK RELEASE FRONT WHEEL)

2) Two mountain bikes, each with disc brakes.

3) Two, one-person kayaks

4) One of those roof pod things (an extra trunk of sorts).

QUESTION 2:

Is there any sense in looking for used equipment, or is a roof rack system pretty tailored to a particular make, model and year of car?|||You need to go to Thule'ss website to build your own kit here: http://www.thuleracks.com/fg_total.asp?f鈥?/a> as I have just done for you based on limited info that you gave about your car and I set this one up for a 4 door. Do not buy used as this does have to be an exact fit for your specific make and model year although there are fit kits that apply for many makes and models the other parts can be specific to your model and year. Do not buy used! One brand may work for your car and the other may not, I researched the Thule brand only as it is the one I sell and am familiar with and I also chose 4 locks and you may want more or less (this was the cheap part) as you can see the total price on the page I selected. I would suggest that you start over and price it accordingly on the homepage to find exactly what you need and as a guide for total cost. Do this right and do not buy used unless youdon'tt want to hold that tandem bike...|||roof racks are a tailored to make model %26amp; year. What you can do if you want to go the used route is to use the fit guide on Yakima or Thule's websites. It will tell you all of the pieces needed. You can then look for used parts to match the specs as far as load bars %26amp; carrier parts. All you'd have to buy, maybe, is the clips that hold the rack to that specific car.

Is there a way to use Yakima Mightymount Adapters to mount a Thule Fairing on factory Crossbars?

I'm trying to mount a Fairing on my factory crossbars. and i'm wondering if there is a way to use the Yakima Mighty Mounts to fit a Thule Fairing on my Ford Escape. You need 4 Thule 450 crossroad brackets and 2 Thule LB50 crossbars. The link will get you a place that sells them for a total of $192.00. They have locations in Canada and The USA. I ordered my rack online and it was shipped from thier Denver Store and recieved it in Kansas City in 2 days.

Is it safe to leave a removable Thule/Yakima roof rack on my car all year round?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I used a thule roof rack with bike racks to carry, you guessed it, my bikes this summer. Now that winter is rolling around, should I consider removing the rack to avoid trapping grit/salt/etc. and damaging the car, or is really okay to leave it be assuming that its correctly mounted and installed?|||If correctly mounted and installed, you should be able to leave that on for the life of the vehicle.

But if you are not going to use it all winter, i would take it off because it adds more drag to the car and you end up burning more fuel. so remove it and getter better gas mileage.

Where can I find Thule (Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition PSP)?

So I was playing FF One on my PSP and after I restored the fire crystal I was completely lost. I didn't know where to go and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I kept trying to go to places that I could reach so that MAYBE I could reach my next destination. I got some nice treasures and leveled up a lot, but I still didn't know where to go .Out of frustration, I went to gamefaqs.com and looked up a strategy guide that told me what I was supposed to do.

After finally getting my airship, I went to the Hellfire Chasm and just walked through it, but when I reached the Outworld simulation, I think it was B3, I saw this pirate. When I made my way to the pirate, I just spoke to him and his name was "Thule", he then gave me advice on how to find the airship. I got really angry because I could have used that advice earlier, and why did I get it after I got the airship? I just wanted to go through the whole game without having to resort to a strategy guide.

So my question is, "Where can I find Thule in the real world, I don't think that he is ONLY in the Hellfire Chasm, that would be dumb." So if anyone knows where he actually is, I would just like that bit of information.

I do wonder how I could've missed talking to him, I usually go through every town and cave and try to talk to everyone I can find. So anyway, if you know the answer to this question, I would really appreciate it, thanks!|||Thule is only in the hellfire chasm. He's there so you can talk to him so that you can find out there's an airship in the desert. However, I do not know where to find the person who tells you to go to the desert in the real world.

Is Nazism more of a cult religion than a political system?

Nazism: National Socialism. I think not!

Hatred of an entire race for unjust reasons, worship of a psychopath with a bad moustache, use of a religious/cult symbol rather than a political symbol, affiliation with secret societies, possibility of cult practice, rants of a psycho talking about racial rather than political matters, The Spear of Destiny, Hitler becoming a member of the Thule Society, The Vril, etc.

Source(s):

Conspiracy theories|||The top Nazis were mostly devout Catholics, some of them were very into mysticism, which is what religion is really all about. Most political systems are a religion, just look at ours for example with the democrats and republicans... it's like Catholicism vs Protestant Christianity... and they're both wrong.|||Much of the "cultist" aspects were lent after the political decisions. Used to reinforce those political beliefs. The antisemitism was more a flow of racial differences however over a long period of time (with nothing restraining it).

In other words I don't believe that the antisemitism had much to do with nationalism, nor with socialism....but both were worked into the excuse. But neither do I believe it was the result of cult practices. The Jewish people were in Germany, and they were different from the rest of the population there. Those differences helped to build on historical religious and political problems.

Hitler did not kill 6 million Jews by himself. In fact, Hitler probably did not kill a single Jew by himself. It was the work of a nation, and collaborators in other nations. People do not need to be mass hypnotized to do great harm to one another. It comes quite natural to us.|||Secret Societies are definitely a concern. Although, I don't know what there true agendas are, I was sexually assaulted as a child by these people. Your kids are in grave danger if you let Freemasons or Dawn of Eastern Star around them. These are the most cowardly child predators I have ever come across! And its in every school system in America. Their crimes will be covered up by the establishment. Everything about these people is lies and deception. Their fanatical agendas are hidden under the disguise of liberalism. Their goal is to teach your kids to sleep with non whites. This will get them out of the "gene pool" and produce white flight. They believe that this will produce an "overman." Which spare tire mount bike rack should I buy for my RAV4?

I want to buy a spare tire mount bike rack form my 1997 Toyota RAV4, but have heard stories of people damaging their vehicles, taking out the back window and difficulty attaching the rack. Which rack do you recommend? Yakima Spare Jow? Swagman XP2? Thule Spare Me? Another?|||From what I know, the Thule is the rack of choice for the RAV4. The others have fit issues with the spare tire. Also, if you ever plan to carry more than two bikes, consider the hitch mount system. The weak link in a spare tire rack is the spare tire mount. It's really just designed to carry the spare tire so he max you can carry is two mountain bikes at best. I'm a roadie and I used to drive a CR-V. The Spare Me is what I used based on the rack shop that I went to. They sold every type of rack and they told me that for the RAV4 and CR-V, the Thule was the best choice and easiest to fit- even if it takes a little work to install. CR-Vs supposed have a little stronger spare tire mount than the RAV4, and the CR-V can only hold up to 70 lbs. That 70 lbs includes the spare tire so take that into consideration.|||put on a trailor hitch and purchase a deck attachment for the hitch|||I know someone who had a thule

Hi,

Recently I have tried to find a real estate agent that would show me a propery listing securing a purchase anywhere in Greenland. I literally cant find anyone online, let alone employment sites listed to try and aquire a position there as a teacher. Knowone will return any e-mails and I have even tried asking through the dating sites but it is like Greenland is not even on the Map.

Ellesmere Island in the upper part of Cananda is the closest I can see to trying to get into Greeland. Does anyone have any ideas or references to travel packages going to Greenland. Work, Hospitality or Travel information at all about Greenland.

I know we have a military base there in Thule and that is about all the information I can get as to Americans coming to work on extended Visa or purchase property there anywhere on the Continent.

Can anyone fill me in on why it is so difficult to go to Greenland?|||Why would anyone want to enter Greenland? I can only see hoping to take from their vast untapped oil reserves. Greenland is currently a poor land propped up by Danish tax payers. Yes, they will be incredibly wealthy with the tens of billions of barrels of oil coming on line...but why should they allow a foreigner to have any part of that lottery? I say if anyone gets anything...its only Greenlanders and Danes.

Is it possible to fit the Thule cross railing/bars on an Audi A4 from a Range Rover?

I have a range rover that's been fitted with Thule cross railing/bars for cargo box on the top. Now because of the low clearance of my two car garage, i have to take down the cargo box each time I drive in, I am thinking of installing the Thule cross railing/bars from my Range Rover onto my wife's Audi A4. Will this work? Or I absolutely need to order custom parts from Thule to do this? be nice to save some money. Thanks!|||Yes, you'll need to order those custom parts from Thule, and if $150 is reasonable to you, that's probably all it will take. You need the Audi A4 "aero feet" to support those bars. Link below. Worth it, in my opinion. In fact, at this point, might as well order two extra bars (for $65 or so, another link below) too so the cargo box becomes interchangeable between the sedan and the SUV. Good luck!

I have looked at Thule and Yakima. Neither has a roof rack for my car. I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. Any other brands or alternatives that people have tried? Thanks!|||If you're on the west coast, check out Rack N Road (http://www.racknroad.com/). They do custom racks for cars. If not, look for a similar sports rack store in your area.

One option-- probably what they'd suggest at Rack N Road-- is to get a track from Yakima or Thule. Unlike the standard racks, this track will fit any car. The track gets permanently attached to your car with screws through the sheet metal. With the track installed, you can then clip the standard Yakima/Thule rack to your car. If you're particularly handy, you could even order the track and install it yourself.

This is the type of rack I got for my car. Even though I could've gotten a standard rack that clips onto the door frame, it was well worth the extra money (about $100 for the track and $100 for the install). It's a lot sturdier, it's really easy to put on and take off the rack, and it won't scratch up your car like the door frame racks.|||a deler in lowell

Do you know if Adolf Hitler had practiced the Thelema sex rituals?

I know he may have been with the Thule society at least on one time.|||It's extremely unlikely.

First, he had an unadventurous and uncompelling sex life, and would have viewed the rituals as a species of degeneracy.

Second, he wasn't a ceremonial magician, unless the Nuremburg rallies count. If he'd decided to take up the practice, he would hardly have started with Thelemic rituals. He was into blood and thunder and power, not fancy sex.

Third, please remember that he was a politician. There aren't many habits I can think of that would more instantly make a political leader vulnerable to blackmail and political attack than engaging in Aleister Crowley's sexual rituals.|||93,

Demonstrably no. We know his sex life wasn't that great, for one, and for two he never showed interest in Thelema after Crowley sent him a copy of Liber L.

Beyond that, he himself was not into the occult, and was not in the Thule society. However, many other SS leaders were. Such a practice would be more for them. HOWEVER, the German occultism at the time was very "Special," and was designed entirely about the Aryans as a Master Race that would bring the world to harmony, as opposed to the Thelemic idea of "Every Man and Woman is a Star."

Is the Thule 20 Liter (1220 cubic inch) backpack good for textbooks and other college stuff?

I've been trying to find an answer for this everywhere. I have a fantastic suitcase from Thule that I got before going to Paris, and I wanted to get a backpack from them mostly because of the insanely high quality, but also because my current backpack is an awkward monstrosity. Not because I cram it, three 1000 page textbooks, a DSLR, and a Macbook (and all relevant accessories and notepads) are pretty standard college stuff. But my current one, nice quality as it is (swissgear) is just so poorly designed and laid out (NO internal pockets, so stuff bunches up and makes the depth go crazy) that I've managed on several occasions to turn and knock someone over with it. I've seen the Thule backpack in person, and my current one is 23 liters (~1400 cubic inches). I just couldn't for the life of me figure out just by looking at it if stuff would fit. If you have the backpack that's amazing please tell me all about it, but if not and you're good at visualizing this sort of thing (backpackers, this means you) then the link is here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/H0616L鈥?/a>|||I suspect it won't have as much room as your current backpack, but it is most likely better designed, so what it lacks in space may be made up in its design. I think the problem might be whether all your books would fit. The smaller things would probably be much easier to manage in the Thule than in your current one.

Where was the ancient Thule?

Thule from Greek, also spelled Thula, Thila, or Thy茂lea, is, in classical European literature and maps, a region in the far north. Though often considered to be an island in antiquity, modern interpretations of what was meant by Thule often identify it as Norway.Other interpretations include the Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, and Scandinavia. In the Late Middle Ages and Renaissance, Thule was often identified as Iceland or Greenland. Another suggested location is Saaremaa in the Baltic Sea.

The term ultima Thule in medieval geographies denotes any distant place located beyond the "borders of the known world". Sometimes it is used as a proper noun (Ultima Thule) as the Latin name for Greenland when Thule is used for Iceland.

What is the mystical origins of Naziism and its relations? What did Hitlerism consist of?

I know it had something to do the relations with the Thule Society (whatever that is) and other groups like the Bavarian Illuminati (not much is know about this either). Anyone know what they involve and were these part of the origins of Naziism?|||Studies indicate Hitler used a combination of three different mythologies or religions: Norse Mythology, Christianity, and Sanatana Dharma, a.k.a. the philosophy which precedes Hinduism, (the later being from were he obtained the swastika [it previously was used for sun worshipping]). Wish I still had the websites I used in my research. If you keep rewording searches you'll find it I'm sure. The groups you mention all go back to some belief within the ones I've mentioned. Because they are esoteric societies the intel on them may not be that readily available. You might try contacting the dept chair of the history dept of any university toward this regard. Maybe do web searches on phD thesis's with Nazi history or belief systems as a topic. Good luck.|||Hitler was kind of mental..actually, he was very ill mentally. That is where it stemmed from. I do not think that other groups had an influence on Hitler..his mind just worked that way due to sickness and he ended up becoming powerful by inflicting fear.|||Hitlerism?????

Get a good education before it is too late.|||You got me. All I can tell you is what I know.

You know how today no one is just italian, british, or whatever, even overseas everyone is this that and the other thing.

That mixing scared the BEJESUS out of him, especially with Jews. That was his ultimate goal, to keep his Aryan heritage pure and keep his race the 'Master Race'. (Here's another term for Master Race - La Raza).

Thus his fear for his race (when race meant race) fruitioned to the Final Solution, which crossed him over to the most hated man in all of modern history.

Anything else was just peripheral in my opinion.

People forget or don't know that if Hitler died before his bullshit began, he would have gone down in history as the greatest politician of all time in the world.|||This is well discussed in the book _Morning of the Magicians_ by Pauwels %26amp; Bergier.

There was an "Ultima Thule" society of German romantic mystics ... Hitler was basically a charismatic opportunist who took control of that group and eliminated its founders, steering it in his own demented direction by playing upon people's insecurities and frustrations. There's a great video, "The Empty Mirror", well worth seeing.|||The gist of it all was a growing power hungry so called man testing the boundaries and limits of his beliefs. Thule Bike Carrier?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Thule 961XT - Speedway bike carrier that is a strap-on. I don't have the hitch on my vehicle (which is 2006 Ford Escape) and I hear it can be pretty expensive to have one installed. What are your suggestions on this bike carrier? Get it or keep looking??|||Getting a reasonable quality hitch installed on your Escape shouldn't run you more than $200 US all told (parts and labor).

Personally, I prefer the roof mount racks, because I'm always worried someone will either 'bump' my bikes if they're on a hitch mount, or that they are simply easier to get at from a thief's perspective.

Depending on the type of bike you have, I'd suggest trying either 599XTR (Bigmouth) for a disc-brake, full-suspension mountain bike or 589 Velo Vise (Fork Mount) for a single-suspension MTB or road bike.

The Bigmouth basically grabs the downtube in a clamp, and allows you to rack the bike without removing wheels. The VeloVise requires removal of the front wheel, and clamps the fork onto a lockable skewer.

The other major problem with a trunk mount like the 961XT is that there's no really good means of locking the rack itself to the vehicle. All a good thief needs to do is cut the straps, and move out with the rack AND bikes. Easy to do, if he's got a pickup or a van ...|||hitch mount is the only way to go in my opinion. arent those Escapes big enough to throw a bike in the back???

Air Greenland has a post here but you have to be a native to fly into thule. Any other questions feel free to contact me.|||Not regularly scheduled anymore afaik. Can catch the rotator out of Baltimore to Keflavik and see if there's something local but that's about as close to Thule as I know.

What ski/snowboard rack would go on my bare Jetta 2000 GL roof?

I don't want to drill holes in the roof, just want something thats easy to install and take out. I looked for universal ones but they are ones that attach to railing or bars already on roofs. I have OEM VW base carrier bars on my 2000 Jetta as well as the ski/snowboard attachments. The system is made by thule and branded VW. Please could anyone tell me if a Thule 591 cycle carrier will hold my Beone Leontien Team Replica womens road?

bike, frame size 40cm.

Thanks

Claire|||This bike carrier holds the bike by clamping the down tube. If the tubing walls of your bike are very thin, this might not be the best bike carrier to use, the clamp could dent or crush the tube. If the tubing walls are thin, a carrier like the 594XT which holds the bike by clamping the front wheel might be better. Any fork mount carrier would also work, although these mean that you have to remove the front wheel.

Not what happens Thule the events that take place at the doctors, but what happens to your body? Is it affected by your blood getting drawn? Does it automatically make new blood to replace it? Why do you feel dizzy or tired all of a sudden?|||Your body is affected a little, but not much and not in any permanent fashion. Blood is being made all the time from water you drink and red blood cells manufactured by your bones.

The tiredness or dizziness is because your brain notices that you're missing some blood and wants you to stop moving for a while so that the lost blood can be replaced.

How do I haul 2 sea kayaks on my 2003 mazda protege5?

I want to haul 2 sea kayaks (16ft long) on my mazda protege5. I have the factory rack. Can I just buy 4 J-cradles from yakima or thule and attach them to the factory rack? Or will I also need to buy a rack system with the bars and such?

Thank you!|||Go on Thule's website and see if there is an application. I am doubtful that it will fit directly onto the factory rack. However, on one of my Audis I had to get mounts that went on the rails, then bars, and fairing.|||You can buy a good rack at Big 5 sporting goods or put them thru back seat into trunk with a bungi cord.|||I found out the hard way that factory rails will not hold my 2 sea kayaks 18 and 16 foot long with gear. Thule group secret socitey?

The swastika of the Nazi flag has been replaced by the Scientology "S and double triangle". The symbol of the Religious Technology Center is surrounded by sig runes. Thule cargo carrier?

Will you tell of the voyage of Pytheas? Its date? Name the island he called Thule.?

Is it history, folklore, or a bit of both?|||Around 330 B.C.Pytheas set out from the Greek colony of Massalia to explore northern Europe.

He was the first literate man to visit the British Isles and the coasts of France and Denmark, and there is good evidence that he traveled on to Iceland. Pytheas鈥檚 own account of the journey, titled On the Ocean and published in about 320 B.C. is lost, but the story survives in the works of ancient historians. Some, like Strabo, don't give total credence to the story told by Pytheas, while others believe he actually went on two expeditions to northern parts of Europe. Pytheas was a poor man, but an intellectual, and very well could have received funding for his explorations. Some say it was amber, tin and other resources which spurred the voyages into a world unknown. Without a doubt, most have decided Pytheas did indeed visit the areas he claims to have seen, but may have embellished his accounts from other stories he heard.

I believe Thule to be Iceland, but no one is for sure on this point. As to Thule and those distant parts he stated that there was neither earth, sea, nor air, but a sort of mixture of all these, like to the mollusca, in which the earth and the sea and everything else are suspended, and which could not be penetrated either by land or by sea. I find this wording an eerie depiction of Thule, especially when viewed from a lonely ship rocking in a dark ocean of uncertainty.

I consider it to be history and folklore combined, as the original account cannot be consulted to verify the actual events of the voyage, and given that others reviewing his account say he told some tall tales. At any rate, Pytheas must have been very brave, smart and adventurous to have accomplished what he did.|||he wasn't really mythological, he was a "french" in the late 4th century bce. he sailed the atlantic to britain and to thule... possibly ireland, iceland or greenland.

Does any specific model of cross bars fit better on this car? I would really appreciate if you could inform me about noise, effect on mileage and aesthetics. Thanks a lot.|||I own a Subaru Forester 2.5XT (SG9, 2008 Model). And, I am very much pleased with the Thule Rack and Thule Box (Atlantis 1600 / 686XT). I used them only when I need to as it would definitely be a big air drag, thus, higher consumption of fuel. Good thing, these are easily attached and removed in just a few minutes. More than doubling your luggage space!

I too, had a lot time invested researching which one is best. The experience of my friends with this sturdy and appealing set-up convinced me for it

The Thule (modern-day Inuit) People arrived in Alaska in A.D 500. Did they use the Bering Land Bridge?

And does this land bridge still exist today?

Awarding best answer.|||A look at any map will clearly show that such a land bridge doesn't exist today. Geologists suggest that a land bridge existed 10,000 years ago, so that indicates it probably did not exist 2,500 years ago. In that case, the Thule must have used kayaks or other boats.|||LOL, is this a joke or are you some sort of conspiracy nut?|||No, due to the toll.|||Geologists speculate that the land bridge between Alaska and Asia disappeared when the Ice Age ended about 10,000 years ago. As the massive amounts of water that had been frozen in glaciers covering the northern reaches of the planet melted, the level of the earth's oceans rose dramatically, covering the land bridge. Traveling from Siberia to Alaska in AD 500 would have been done by boat.

Would a thule 725 fit my truck's factory rack?

the thule website advises the 91724 flat top ski rack for my 2006 chevy trailblazer's factory roof rack. realizing that the model 725 flat top ski rack is probably no longer supported, does anyone know if this would fit the same truck?|||Get the Fat Mouth clamps from Thule. Those clamps fit almost every factory roof rack. I have an '03 Chevy and they fit my racks. The clamps have all sorts of combinations for the inserts, so they fit most models. You just attach the Flat Top to the rack.

Now...all that might be moot if the 725 is too wide for your roof. That is a 6-ski rack and the 91724 (aka the 724) is a 4-ski rack. In that case, you'll have to get load bars and attach them to your side rails. I have to do this when I put my 724 rack and my cargo box on the car at the same time. What you know about thule gesellschaft?

What you know about thule gesellschaft or Thule|||The Thule-Gesellschaft (Thule Society) was founded August 17, 1918, by Rudolf von Sebottendorff. He had been schooled in occultism, Islamic mysticism, alchemy, Rosicrucianism and much else, in Turkey, where he had also been initiated into Freemasonry.

Its original name was Studiengruppe f眉r germanisches Altertum (Study Group for German Antiquity), but it soon started to disseminate anti-republican and anti-Semitic propaganda.

A movement to promote Thulian ideas among industrial workers and to offset Marxism, was formed in August 1918 - the Workers' Political Circle with Thulist Karl Harrer as chairman.

From this came the German Workers' Party in 1919.

The Thule Society inner circle beliefs ...

Thule was a legendary island in the far north, similar to Atlantis, supposedly the center of a lost, high-level civilization. But not all secrets of that civilization had been completely wiped out. Those that remained were being guarded by ancient, highly intelligent beings (similar to the "Masters" of Theosophy or the White Brotherhood).

The truly initiated could establish contact with these beings by means of magic-mystical rituals.

The "Masters" or "Ancients" allegedly would be able to endow the initiated with supernatural strength and energy.

With the help of these energies the goal of the initiated was to create a race of Supermen of "Aryan" stock who would exterminate all "inferior" races.

Thanks guys...|||I can't seem to find out either. Their web site is pretty crappy, there's no way to search and you have to follow their little paths to where they want you to go. If you don't want to know exactly what they want to tell you, and if you don't want to ask in the way they want you to ask, they either say "no, it doesn't fit" or "Call us and we'll tell you". I guess that's the problem dealing with Swedes, if you don't fit into their little vision of the world then they can't see you. Anyway, I'd say that you'll need to either find a dealer who'll let you try it, or maybe call them and see what they say.

|||The Precambrian era was a long, long time period. Everything before about 550 million years ago is Precambrian, which means the Precambrian was around 4 billion years long.

Considering the shifts in plate tectonics that have occurred in the past 550 million years, moving continents from Pangaea through all manner of different configurations and back, it is not unreasonable to think that the section of land which is currently Greenland could have been almost anywhere and everywhere during the Precambrian.

Parts of southern Greenland show signs of having been part of one of the continental cratons. Cratons were igneous extrustions spewed up by the highly active Archaean volcanoes, and became the 'seeds' that formed the accretion centers of the forming continents.

Near the end of the Precambrian, the mass that is now Greenland was fairly close to the South Pole of the planet.
