Have just snapped key in Thule top box lock (roof box for car), what can I do?

Can you purchase new locks and have them fitted, can the key be removed and a new one bought ?|||Yes of course. Don't know how much it will cost though.|||Open it with a big sledge hammer or some C4 - stand a good way back though as it makes a bit of a bang when it goes off.|||yes you can. try going to halfords, they sell Thule roof boxes and if they can usually order in a new key from thule. it may take a couple days is the only thing but it is possible.|||dont go to halfords ! they are rubbish . any competent garage could sort this out for you .|||You can get replacement keys etc. from the authorised dealers, this gives you a "find a dealer" map : http://maps.thule.co.uk/map/map.asp?czoo鈥?/a>

As for removing the broken one, you can often succeed with needle-nose pliers or tweezers. If you're out of luck any good local garage will be able to help.|||The keys usually break because the multipoint locks aren't all engaging. Try using snipe nose pliers to turn the broken key at the same time reduce pressure on the key by pressing and releasing the lid at the three locking points. You should have 2 keys, each with the number on. Reorder from Thule or Halfords or have one cut at a locksmith. Halfords sell a set of four new locks and keys for 拢19.99.
