i tried with just the factory roof rack, but didn't even get a mile before it started to crack, and wasn't very secured. and Thule makes one but it's like $300, who has that kind of $$$!
is there a cheaper canoe carrier for a 2001 Grand Cherokee|||I typed in jeep roof racks and on the results page that popped up was discount ramps.com, and took a quick tour of their website, and they seemed to have a variety of different roof racks, cargo carriers and ramps, never have used this company personally, there were also, many other links. good luck.
