Do you have to get premission to visit Thule AFB if you are a military member?

I ask this because the only way to get to Thule is by MAC flight. It is not like any other base where you drive up show your ID and proceed.|||You need to be on a mission to go to Thule. There is not the facilities there for non-duty visitors, although I would hazard that they would be happy to see new faces! Spent 2 weeks there TDY in the "Summer" and the base facilities and food were great, but there is not a hotel or transportation to get you around for leisure travel. Generally, Hops do not go through Thule.|||Considering the only way to get to Thule is by MAC flight, I would suppose you would have to have permission to get on a MAC flight, therefore having permission to go to Thule.|||The bigger question would be "why" would you want to go to Thule? If you are military, you just catch a hop.
